Exalted Ruler Letter for June 2025

May is coming to an end, and it has been another great month here at the Lodge. We started off May by having our annual Spring Conference in Winston Salem, and we had a great showing of Elks from our High Point Lodge. The conference was well attended from all districts in the state. Have you ever attended a State Conference? If you’re interested in attending a State Conference, please reach out to me and I will tell you all about it.

We held a Kentucky Derby viewing at the Lodge. But the power went out and the party was in jeopardy of being canceled. Never fear, Tom Adams is here! Tom stepped in and hooked up a generator that allowed the members to watch the Derby and continue the fun. Next, we held our annual Mother’s Day Brunch, in which we performed the Ritual for the Observance of Mother’s Day. The officers of the Lodge did a great job with this event, and it was well attended. Family burger night was a great success this year and will return after pool season.

We have had a great month for entertainment at the Lodge! We’ve had Michael Chaney, Music Bingo, and Alek Ottaway. Finally, the pool opened on May 23rd. A special thanks to the pool committee members and the non-pool committee members for getting the pool ready to open. Opening day did not disappoint! There was a great showing, and Joey Gray was cooking up hot dogs for the members. The weather for Memorial Day was not good for swimming, however, the members battled the elements, did a potluck lunch, played cards/games, and made the best of a rainy day.

June is shaping up to be another busy month at the Lodge. The High Point Elks Swim Team has meets starting on June 3rd at Forest Oaks, and they will have swim-meets every Tuesday through the month of June. Check the Swim Team schedule for dates and times to support our team.

Who likes pancakes? The High Point Elks Swim Team will be hosting a pancake dinner fundraiser Thursday nights in June in the lounge from 6:00-8:30pm. Music Trivia will be held on June 13. Come out and test your music knowledge. We will hold our annual Flag Day Ceremony on June 14th at 1:45pm by the pool. Later that night, we will host the Senior Prom Across The Decades at 7pm in the Ballroom. Check your emails for the weekly email blast and our social media pages to stay up to date with what’s going on at the lodge.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at our Lodge in June!
