Exalted Ruler Letter for September 2022

Hello Brothers and Sisters:

I WANT YOU to consider becoming a Lodge Officer or committee member for the upcoming Elk year. If you want change or would like to see something started, this is your chance. I may be early but doing so gives you time to look into all areas so you can make the correct selection. Our Lodge is a fabulous destination due to the hard work of our members and we always welcome new ideas. Begin the search and attend a Lodge meeting to see how our meetings are conducted and ask all the questions you have.

The High Point Lodge Drug Awareness Program is holding a poster contest for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. The submissions will be forwarded to the district and the winner will go on to compete at the state and national level! Please see the flyers in the Lounge and Newsletter for more information. Thank you to Phil Driscoll for assisting our Drug Awareness Committee by donating 250 coloring books and crayons. We have an abundance of drug awareness literature and are presently looking to make donations to any organization that could use them.

We had some great weekends in August. First, the guest weekend was spectacular! So many members and guests enjoying what we had to offer, a great band, refreshing pool and amenities. Second, thank you to Hutch, Shari & Phil Driscoll for representing us at the annual Camp Carefree cookout. It is always a great event that we love to host. We had an excellent District Deputy Clinic hosted at our Lodge. All eight Lodges in our district were able to attend, and our Lodge was heavily complemented our our hospitality and ambiance. Thank you to all those who helped make this happen. Lastly, the farewell event for our departed brother, Antawon Ingram, held at The Deck made for an emotional evening. Antawan’s family and friends were appreciative of those from our Lodge who attended. To our Absent Member.

Well, pool season is almost over, but we still have plenty of fun at our Lodge! We have many events scheduled in the coming months and I thank everyone involved for their participation. Our game room has been painted and refreshed, and our dart board and pool table are ready for some fun!

The NC Elks Fall Convention will be held in Clemmons at the Village Inn Resort on October 28-30th. Event and hotel registration is the responsibility of each member. For more information, please visit NCElks.org.

Please be sure to check out all of our Upcoming Events on the weekly e-blast and website.
