June was a big month for the Lodge! It was quite a month! We were challenged early in the month with the pool pump going out. A special thanks to Neil Martone, Jason Owen, Tom Connolly, Mike Cockerham, John Harkey and Stewart McGlaughlin for their work getting the new pump installed. It was a team effort. The swim team has had pancake fundraisers each Thursday in the month of June. We had the School’s Out Cookout with burgers and hot dogs. The Lodge Officers preformed the Flag Day Ceremony at the pool with the assistance of some of our Elk youth. The ceremony is a great way to learn about the history of our nation’s flag and to support our Veterans. We had music trivia and the Senior Prom Across the Decades which was a success. The Veterans Committee delivered multiple Welcome Home Kits in the month of June. Members from the High Point, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem Lodges cooked burgers and hot dogs for the families at Camp Carefree. The Ladies Auxiliary hosted the basket raffle and tacos under the shelter and was well attended. Lastly, families are enjoying the pool and creating memories for a lifetime. It was a great month for our Lodge!

The swim team will compete in the City Meet on July 10th and we wish them the best of luck at the meet. Our annual Fourth of July Celebration will be here before you know it. We have lots of exciting activities planned throughout the day and celebrate the independence of our great nation. The swim team will have their end of season party and awards banquet on July 19th.
