Ladies Auxiliary – November 2009 Newsletter

The Ladies have planned many activities for the month of November…

Most importantly, we have kicked off our first annual food drive. We are collecting non-perishable food items to donate to those in need in our community. Boxes have already been set up in various locations at the Lodge. On your next trip to the Lodge, please consider going through your pantry and bringing along an extra can or box of food can be shared with a family in need. The event will culminate with a “Fill the Truck” day on Saturday, November 7th, in which we will be on site with Jim Camp’s truck with the hope to overfill it with all your donations. Please, please, please consider all those in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves. It takes only a single can or box of food to feed an individual.

The Fall Carnival is underway and ready for Saturday, November 14th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A fun time will be had by all. Don’t forget to invite family, friends, and neighbors as all are welcome.

Don’t forget the Chili Cookoff scheduled later in the day. This will be a great opportunity to taste some of the best flavors in the south!

Through mid-November, Beth Hawks will be collecting item to send to our troops in Afghanistan for the holidays. Suggested items would be chapstick, hand sanitizer, Lance crackers, and tins of cookies. More information will follow. When shopping, consider our troops.
