Ladies Auxiliary – August 2010 Newsletter

I would like to say WELCOME to our new Elk members. It was great meeting you this summer!

July 4th was a HUGE success.  I would like to thank Kathy Chorpening for her help organizing and running the games.  Also a big thank you to Carol Hoover, Theresa Franklin, Mary Kearns, Anne Marie Orcutt , and Kathy Pascavage for all your help in making this 4th of July a huge success with decorating, selling donuts, selling snow cones, taking photos & many more things.  And sorry to anyone I have left out for you know who you are THANK YOU!

A special Thank you goes out to a future Elk Ryan Capra for selling snow cones, setting up for the 4th of July.

August 7th CAMP CAREFREE DAY
This is an ElK event with the Ladies Auxiliary to help the men raise money for their great cause of Camp Carefree Please plan to attend to a fun filled full day of lots of activities.  There will be a Cook out of Chicken dinners for $5.00 a person games $5.00 a band to play all day, silent auction items AND we would LOVE to have as many kids at this event to have our kids meet the riders with flags to welcome them on their arrival and MANY MORE…

This month the Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting our biggest party of the year ISLAND NIGHT Saturday, August 28th  at 6:30. There will be appetizers, dancing, music featuring DJ Les, games, raffle basket and a Grand Prize drawing. You will not want to miss out on this! Get your tickets while they last there is a limited amount being sold.

Congratulations High Point Elks Swim Team for placing in 3rd for the City Swim Meet! That is a big accomplishment going against 20 something other teams.

It is August so that means it is our last month to enjoy the pool and time to think about going back to school.  With that said keep checking your newsletter for upcoming events or checking out the Elks website http://www.hpelks.com

Upcoming this month is Spaghetti & Magic Family Night, Sunday, August 15th upstairs starting at 5:30.

That which we do for another, we do also for ourselves.
