Exalted Ruler Letter for December 2020

November being the month to show our thanks, I’m very thankful for being a part of such a great Lodge and a great group of members. Although we are limited due to the constraints of COVID, we do remain open and active in the community. We are a business that is operated by volunteer’s time and efforts, and without the devotion of ALL of our various committees and members, we would not be as successful as we have been for the past 110 years. This month has been no exception as once again we have accomplished a lot for our community, our members, and their families.

Our Ladies Auxiliary has decorated the Lounge with festive Christmas decorations and beautiful Christmas trees. The PER’s served a great steak dinner and those who attended the Halloween Party had a great time. We also had our highly anticipated 7th Annual Andy Albertson and Steven Hall Memorial Charity Golf Tournament. This was by far one of the best golf tournaments I have ever attended. The turnout was excellent, weather could not have been better, and the event went like clockwork. Deanna Vernon chaired the event with the help of Vanessa Slack, Lindy Hight, Mark Vernon and numerous others. This year’s proceeds recipient is Heart Strides. Heart Strides assist people with cardiac rehabilitation, although this is covered by most insurance companies, there are many who need the cardiac rehabilitation but don’t have insurance or ability to cover the cost. The funds raised by this tournament will go a long way to support those in need and potentially save lives.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Members (Past, present and future) a Happy Holiday Season! Please be sure to enjoy the time we are given with our loved ones and to appreciate the wonderful traditions we have in this great country of ours. December is already shaping up to be another great month full of events at our Lodge: Our Annual Memorial Service for our Absent Members, PER Steak Night, and Members only Christmas Dinner. The Veterans Committee is planning a Christmas Dinner for some well deserved Veterans, Christmas Pajama Party and more.
