Ladies Auxiliary – September 2009 Newsletter

Wow, It’s hard to believe that the Summer of ’09 has come and gone … with Fall we get back to our regular monthly meetingsFirst and foremost, we need to thank MJ Hedrick, for all her hard work and dedication to the Ladies Auxiliary, due to personal reasons MJ has stepped down as our President. We all wish her well.

I am very excited about this upcoming year. A few changes you may have noticed, we were able to purchase new patio furniture, thank you to Shari Driscoll for getting this for us, and secondly the Ladies Bathroom downstairs has been decorated, thank you to Angie Conner for taking the time to decorate it.

I would also like to thank Carol Hoover for the outstanding job she did this summer, with our Ladies nights. June was Mexican night complete with Mexican food, drinks and a Piñata.  July was Caribbean night complete with food, and a treasure hunt.  We all had a great time.

In August, our Membership Committee, Terri Dowdee and Carol Hoover along with Jana Bova and Carol Newman, hosted the Open House. It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday. Many vendors from the area were on hand, as well as food and baskets to raffle. It was amazing.

August also brought us another successful, Island night, as I have been the chair of this committee for the last 2 years, I am extremely grateful for the dedication all who participate in helping me get this together, a special thanks to Robin Webster, Theresa Franklin, Monica Pallaci, Angie Conner, Anne Marie Orcutt and Terri Dowdee, for letting me know that every thing would be fine, you guys are great.

We have many things planned for the upcoming year. Saturday, September 26th we will host a family Campout, Cookout and movie night. October will bring our 100th anniversary and convention, November will be the Chili cook-off and Fall Carnival just to name a few. We will need as much participation as possible to help with all these events. There are still several spots available on our various committees you just need to sign up.

We have brought to the floor at our September meeting proposed by law changes, they have been posted at the Lodge and we will vote on them at our October meeting.

Don’t forget if you joined us over the summer your dinner at your first meeting is complimentary. Please make sure your dues are paid so your information can be added to our yearbook.

I look forward to being the President this year, and I know that with everyone’s participation it will be a very successful year.

Sincerely,
Linda Camp
President, Ladies Auxiliary
