Ladies Auxiliary – October 2009 Newsletter

Welcome to October!  The fall is always my favorite time of year.  School is back in session. Football season is upon us… (GO GIANTS!)

Thank you all who attended our September meeting.  It was long and very productive.  We had some changes.  Theresa Franklin was nominated to serve as Vice President; we will vote her in at our October meeting.  We read and have posted new by-law changes; these will be voted on at our October meeting.  New Committee chairs were named.  All in all it was a great way to start our new year.

September was a busy month, Labor Day and the closing of the pool for the season, was truly a fun filled day with a few surprises..for those of you who may have missed it, Liz Day and Patti Reece really out did themselves with their great dance routine!  A few of us took the High Dive challenge; it sure looks a lot different from a lounge chair!!

Family Burger nights have started again.  The Ladies will be hosting an activity, game night once a month at Burger Night.  Please check the website for which Thursday.

The last Saturday of the month we hosted the Family Campout/Cookout and Movie night… A special THANK YOU to Andrew Lyon for setting up and showing the movie..

October will prove to be as busy….

Our Community Service Committee will be holding a Thanksgiving food drive.  Robin Webster and her committee are working hard to make this a success.  The goal is going to be filling the bed of a pick up truck, with canned food, baking items, any food items will taken.  With all of us working on this we should be able to do it.  The date has been set for October 10th.

The Lodge will be celebrating a week long celebration in honor of our 100th Anniversary.

The Ladies will be hosting the Family Birthday Bash on Monday, October 26th, Please join us for food, cake, and ice cream and Fun!!

The month ends with the Fall Convention in Concord. Of course that will be a fun weekend!!

Mark your calendars for a few dates in November and December.

November 14th is the Fall Carnival/Chili Cook-off.
Carol Hoover and Shari Driscoll and their committee are working very hard on the Carnival. They have planned a fun day for kids of all ages. They can use as much help as possible so please let one of them know you can help.

December 19th has been set for our annual Breakfast with Santa.
Linda Transou is busy putting this together. She will be looking for some help with this, watch for sign up sheets and please volunteer!!

Just a reminder if you have joined the Auxiliary and have yet attended a meeting remember your dinner that night is on us.  If anyone is interested in joining us please come and see what we are all about!
